Visit to The Francis Crick Institute
The Food and Catering Department took a group of students to the kitchen of The Francis Crick Institute at Kings Cross in conjunction with the The Springboard Charity. The charity helps young people achieve their potential and nurtures unemployed people of any age into work. It helps alleviate poverty by supporting disadvantaged and underprivileged people into sustainable employment within the hospitality, leisure, tourism and the general running of the Food and Catering industries in the UK.
The main purpose of the visit was to broaden the knowledge of students that are interested in and want to know more about Food and Catering and how the industry works. It was also aimed at encouraging, motivates, builds confidence, develops the skills required in their practical lessons.
Students engaged in and were given:

- Support into sustainable employment
