Academy Governors, as well as being charged with ensuring the effective leadership of the academy, are each linked to specific subject areas of the academy’s curriculum.  Governors will visit the academy on a regular basis and meet with the Heads of Department of their linked subjects/areas.  Governors will then submit a record of their visit to the Governing Body and Headteacher.  The Governor Visit Record will include areas such as: Summary of visit, what was found to be effective, questions raised/discussed and key aspects to report back to the next Governing Body meeting.

Register of Business Interests 

The academy holds a Register of Business Interests for all trustees and the headteacher and is obliged to declare the interests of trustees and members on the academy’s website.

Governors are also asked to declare any potential conflicts of interest arising from any matter or agenda item discussed by the Governing Body and its Committees at each meeting and this is formally recorded.
