Year 11 Futures Day gave our students a greater awareness of their options after GCSE.  The day kicked off with a guest speaker, David Barker, who gave a presentation on his career as an entrepreneur and the attitudes required to be successful in whatever they choose to pursue.

We had six workshops that focused on Post-16 options.  The workshops included a range of established partners to the academy and with their expertise were able to deliver specific guidance on where students can go next.  The workshops were from Unite Union (workers' rights), Redbridge (apprenticeships), Prospects (careers advice), New City College (college route) and two in-house workshops one covering the academy's Sixth Form and a workshop on START our new careers software.  The day was very successful. Students asked mature questions and were engaged in all the workshops.
