Redbridge Schools' Choral Festival at the Royal Albert Hall
34 of our students (and four staff) took part in the Redbridge Schools' 22nd Choral Festival organised by Redbridge Music Service. This event is held every other year at the Royal Albert Hall in Kensington. Primary and secondary schools from the whole borough join together for an evening of music. Students rehearse in their school choirs and meet with other schools for joint practice sessions as the festival gets nearer.
On the day of the concert there is a mass rehearsal in the afternoon before the concert kicks off at 7pm. In total there are over 1000 voices accompanied by the Redbridge Symphony orchestra.
This year the theme was Past, Present and Future. A highlight was '100 Years Suite' composed by Mr Wilcox, a local musician and composer accompanied by performances from Redbridge Drama Centre focusing on events from 1918. And let's not forget the Forever Motown Medley.
An unforgettable experience for everyone!
